What I wrote (2015)

In November, I was nominated for "Best Columnist" and "Writer of the Year" in the 2015 Sheety Awards.

I was surprised. As I later told a friend (who had encouraged me to "not sell myself short"), I felt like I had a strong and most consistent presence in 2014 as I wrote for a variety of outlets. Also, this year I gave up on my Kickstarter project in June. It feel odd to be nominated (in a niche of a niche of a website) for your writing skills in the same year as you publicly admitting that you couldn't finish a writing project. But it's all neither here nor there. I'm excited that I'm still doing something that interests other people.

I went through a list of all of the pieces I wrote this year and together it forms a much wider picture than I originally remembered. I wrote articles for Bleacher Report, Voices of Wrestling, Wrestling Observer website, Seeking Alpha, WhatCulture, wrestlenomics.com and indeedwrestling.com.

Presented this way, I suddenly feel a lot better about the year. I was an active analyst and writer and I looked at everything from Network financials to the WON Hall of Fame to Shamrockmania to WWE House Show Draws to who is on the WWE Board of Directors. I appeared on the Sheet Sandwich Podcast and kept Wrestlenomics Radio alive. It was a fine year.
